But I remember how he would be careful to schedule in meetings with students (or his fellow teachers) around his meetings with the President or some prime minister! (I could hear the appointments being juggled in the office across the way!) It was as important for Elie Wiesel to meet with an 18-year-old student as it was for him to meet with the President of the United States. Above all else, he was a teacher who put his students first.”
