The Director of the Center for Spiritual Life and Chaplain is primarily concerned with the spiritual and religious lives of students and is a pastor to the entire Eckerd Community. The Chaplain directs the Student Coordinators and Paraprofessional program.
A generous endowment from the late Mr. Jack Eckerd supports through stipend and program funding this group of student leaders who provide spiritual and religious life programming on campus.
The College is related by covenant to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and maintains programs that connect students with religious bodies off campus.
Our Eckerd Buddhist Chaplain, Catholic Campus Minister, and Campus Rabbi assist the Center for Spiritual Life in addressing the religious needs of the campus community. The College also maintains relationships with Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, and other religious communities in the Tampa Bay area to ensure that all students have access to resources in support of their spiritual journey
