The Eckerd College Office of Sustainability is hosting the Tampa Bay Clean Cities Coalition Alternative Fuel Expo on the Eckerd College campus Thursday, December 5. The event is part of a U.S. Department of Energy initiative to propel the region forward in alternative fuel use.
Attendees will learn about the new fuel choices available on the market today—electric, natural gas, and the possibility of fuel from algae. All the latest alternative fuel vehicles will be on display at Eckerd’s Cobb Parking Circle from 11:00 a.m. until noon. In addition to the vehicle display, attendees may test drive an all-electric Chevrolet Volt.
Following the vehicle display, the program will continue until 2 p.m. in Eckerd’s Miller Auditorium with light refreshments followed by a presentation on algae biofuels and a panel discussion on all alternative fuels.
Tampa Bay Clean Cities Coalition is part of U.S. Clean Cities, which hopes to reduce the nation’s dependency on petroleum. Learn more about events and efforts coordinated by Eckerd’s Office of Sustainability.
