The Met: Live in HD coming to Miller Auditorium

Ten live high-definition broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera will be shown on the big screen at Miller Auditorium at Eckerd College starting this fall and running through the spring.

It will be the only St. Petersburg location for the popular Emmy and Peabody award winning series, now in its ninth season.

The Met: Live in HD begins Oct. 3 and continues through April 30, featuring such popular operas as Il Travatore, Otello, Tannhauser and Turandot.

The Metropolitan Opera is a vibrant home for the most creative and talented singers, conductors, composers, musicians, stage directors, designers, visual artists, choreographers and dancers from around the world. Since December 2006, the company has presented The Met: Live in HD in high definition theaters around the world.

Tickets are $25 each or $225 for all 10 performances. Members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and the Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC) enjoy discounted prices. For tickets and details go to eckerd.edu/metopera or call (727) 864-7600.
