Professor Ashman received his Ph.D. in finance from the State University of New York in Buffalo in 1998. He also has an MBA from Loyola College in Maryland, and his Bachelor’s degree is from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Before coming to Eckerd in 2004, he taught a wide variety of finance courses in the MBA program at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He worked for many years in the Health Care Financing Administration (now named the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), which was the Federal agency that administered Medicare and Medicaid, and has done some consulting primarily in the health care finance area.
