I am a geologist interested in the intersection of ecohydrology and climate change. I have conducted laboratory experiments and used geochemical modeling to better understand how saltwater intrusion can affect nutrient availability in estuaries through water-rock interactions. I have also used ecological landscape modeling to envision how the Everglades landscape may respond to different scenarios of sea level rise and rainfall.
I am currently working on a book about an endangered raptor known as the Everglade snail kite. It’s a quest for hope in a damaged world, exploring how it became endangered, and the people trying to save it.
