Research
Dr. Julia M. Hildebrand teaches courses in mass communication and digital media. Her research combines critical media studies with mobilities research, focusing especially on mobile media and new technologies of communication. For her work, she has received multiple awards, including the prestigious Marshall McLuhan Award for Outstanding Book in the Field of Media Ecology for her book Aerial Play: Drone Medium, Mobility, Communication, and Culture (2021, Palgrave Macmillan). When not teaching or researching, she enjoys traveling with her family.
