Hey there! My name is Anwen (pronounced AHN-when) and I am very excited to share my alma mater with you! I graduated from Eckerd in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts focusing in Visual Arts, Theater, Film, and Marine Science. After graduating I spent some time in custom jewelry design helping customers create their dream engagement rings, redesign heirloom jewelry, and create one-of-a-kind pieces from scratch. I realized, though, after talking to many prospective students who came into the jewelry store after their campus tours, that my true passion is helping students bring their college dreams to life.

Eckerd truly is a college that changes lives, it sure changed mine! Coming in with the intention of double majoring in Marine Science and Visual Arts, my wonderful faculty advisor noticed that I had a lot of other interests in the arts as well. As an improvisational actor, director, visual artist, film buff, and science nerd, my interests were all over the place to say the least. The one thing I knew I wanted was to combine my love of the sciences and the arts. My advisor suggested that I consider pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Arts, a unique major that you build with the help of a group of faculty advisors in each discipline you choose.

Outside of academics I spent a lot of time as a leader around campus after honing my skills in our first-year winter term class, Leadership and Self Discovery Practicum. I was a part of our student government–ECOS–and our student activities board–Palmetto Productions–planning events and creating promotional materials for the student body. And, in my “spare time,” I produced and directed a well-known feminist play every February and was the president and founder of the Bob Ross club on campus (which needs a revival…).

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Eckerd College and how it can change your life, too!
