After viewing Sumo wrestling and eating like Sumo champions, we visited Shinohara Furin Studio, the only place in Japan that makes “Edo Furin” (Glass wind chimes first made in Tokyo in the 17th century) and created our own masterpieces. This weekend we are off for a weekend excursion to Nikko and the Toshogu complex, one of the World Heritage sites. We’ll be staying in a minshuku (Japanese-style bed and breakfast), enjoying a hot spring, visiting Kegon Falls and some of the most glamorous temples and shrines in Japan.
